Working with my clients, I offer proposed sketches including suggestions for the colors of the glass and any painted detail. One is chosen and I then make a full-scale "cartoon" which is a life-size drawing of the window or panel. This becomes the actual plan that I use when cutting each piece of glass and when forming the lead shapes which hold each piece of glass in place.

The depth of color and texture of the glass, and the shapes created in the pattern, are all carefully chosen after considering the aspect of the window and the effect and direction of the light flowing through the window. Wherever possible the design is carefully planned to allow light to cast the reflected jeweled colors and patterns onto the interior of the building.
